Hey Frederick...My solar return chart just happens to be for that day, just a couple of hours prior to the new moon, so I've been contemplating that Piscean pile up for a couple of months now. First off, totally agree re the trad. astro. usage of wording to describe things...words have so much power, and labeling Pisces as in any way debilitated is really laughable imho. My feeling about what Pisces harvests from its journey through the zodiac is a little bit different than yours. To me, every lesson that yielded gold and every setback that challenged, BOTH take us on that journey of soul evolution and transformation, including what we glean from Aquarius innovation and Piscean immersions. After all Pisces is the womb of all creation, and what is dissolved returns back into the cosmic All That Is, only to be then taken on the journey again in a new way upon entering into Aries Land again. I don't think most humans like to enter into all parts of the journey, especially those watery emotional depths; after all, what might we find there that might not be considered a treasure upon first examination. (Now here I'm going off on a tangent/rant!) I'm going to do my best to surrender (Pisces) into whatever mental/emotional baggage-release is necessary, use the Piscean energy to extend compassion to myself and others, and as best I can take responsibility for what's my shit. I'm also going to tune into the higher wisdom pouring down onto the planet right now to get a higher perspective on this global insanity/crisis and lean into some Virgo energy and Pallas now in Aquarius, she who knows how to kick butt using her mind to take reasoned actions to make a difference and to recognize those patterns of gaslighting that the inhumane bunch in Washington wants us all to succumb to. I LOVE what you do. I LOVE your pulling no punches in your examination of things. Thanks for listening to my rant! Blessings from your subscriber- Pisces Sun Gemini Asc Cappy Moon-Bobbe
Yes, there are myriad ways to describe the zodiacal odyssey (I can't use the word journey anymore; it's dead to me...lol!) And I also see that Pisces immersion, which you reference, in the womb of the ocean which arises anew in Aries. Definitely.
To me, Pisces has always been the embodiment of 'wise as a serpent and gentle as a lamb.' The water element is often way sharper at catching troubles before they arise, and if there is fire strong in the chart, they will take your head off if they need to.
There's a harsh side to Pisces that folks downplay, I think it comes from the amount of energy they put into being compassionate and helping out the less fortunate. After awhile they blow, wondering 'what about me.'
Also wanted to thank Frederick for acknowledging the fierceness of Pisces. Rio Olesky the first astrologer that didn't describe us as the wimpy garbage bin of the zodiac. Yup non duality and oceanic consciousness AND have you ever been in a storm? The patriarchy (I am sick if the word too) tries to denean the yin virtues and values but if you try to harm someone or something we care about we will do our best to drown you.
I have a cap moon too..one astrologer called us The Bear Claw.
Thank you, Frederick. Once again you leave me filled with gratitude for the complexity of your analyses. And in answer to how I am coping, I’m holding fast - anchoring myself - to two quotes: “The correct understanding of a matter, and misunderstanding the matter, are not mutually exclusive” (as you might guess or know, that’s Kafka). And “Everything in life that we really accept undergoes a change. So suffering must become love. That is the mystery” (Katherine Mansfield). I think in between those two quotes I can pause in what can feel like the rent-asunder of the Piscean paradox. Maybe the non-dual emerges thereby. I dunno. But it’s keeping me from imploding in the meantime. As do you.
Speaking as a mix of air (Aqua) and water (Pisces), with my single earth planet (Mars in Cap): I need different ways to grasp information... so it's always been a bit perplexing why people hold so fast to one tradition or one way of seeing things. If it's what works for you, great. But it's kind of like the micro of the macro. We seem to have to insist that our way is the right way. I don't particularly like rules, but I personally need to learn them in order to break them. For me, it's been helpful to both mentally analyze what I see but also surrender to what I cannot know for certain. Which is a lot. I've been through this koan multiple times already so I know the only thing for certain is that I cannot know anything for certain. I cannot hold too firmly onto any one thing. I can only keep traveling down the road and watch it unfold in front of me. Surrender but keep my head up. When I get to the other side, I'll either say "I told you so" or "Wow, I really didn't see that one coming".. probably a mix of both.
Yes, I see what you are saying. I feel each astrologer's way of approaching astrology is naturally mirrored in their natal chart.
And that is very wise, about knowing that we don't know things for certain.
Again, this obsession with certainty is a very 'male' pastime. (Not to pick on the guys). But it's colored astrology from day one. I mean, there weren't any female astrologers until 4,000 years after Egypt and Babylon, when Linda Goodman appeared. I'm kidding, but only a little.
Thanks for your fascinating take on things. I have been following you for a while. I have a water sun, and a stellium in earth. You're making me realize why I don't do charts for a living. Though a lifelong student of astrology, I also process psychically, but due to all my earth I only want to take a nuts and bolts approach. So if people don't want the info I have, but only the info they request it's a turnoff. It seems like you alluded to this in your comments. I believe that's what you meant by masculine approach.
I'm always wanting to get an astrologer's analysis or explanation of our current political climate. You alluded to it happening around the world simultaneously. Do you believe Pluto in Aquarius, perhaps also combined with Uranus in Taurus (my take) is the explanation for strongmen taking control of government in so many places?
Oh, there would be clients that would love to find you, Barbara...and I do think astrologers attract the sort of clients that jibe with them...it seems to be a resonance thing.
But some clients want very direct, straight-ahead, earth-based predictions. I would suggest you play around with horary astrology, which is where I find that all of the literal rules in traditional astrology work really well. But finding lost car keys is different than discussing the human psyche. My teacher, Ivy Jacobson's book on horary, is outstanding! And it's PINK!!!!!!!
I've had clients over the years (always men...LOL!!!!!!) who are disappointed that I didn't lay out specific predictions and dates, etc. during the consultation with them. But, again, I don't like fatalism in astrology because, again, I am a human being, not a divine oracle.
And yes, I do see the Ur/Taur and Pl/Cap as a celebration of not just strongmen, but of all things tech and crypto and all of that nonsense. Ur/Tau especially represents this obsession with monies that exist and don't exist (Uranus) at the same time. It's nuts.
My husband came into the den when he heard me laughing (actually howling) after your Jehova's Witness comment. Good lord. Thank you for that.
My Pisces Mercury is so attuned to all of this. And as is typical Pisces, I'm overloaded with input, but I think Saturn's transit there helps me define what it is I want to achieve and what I do not want to become distracted by.
Marie, decades ago I was bombarded with input (among other things) and lucky enough to be studying with John Holland at the time. I see he still practices and has a website. I found his books, meditations, etc. invaluable and very practical to learn how to table the input.
Thanks for the compliment and book info. I did study horary, but it didn't appeal to me at all. My most recent teacher encouraged us to do it, but as you said locating people's lost items is very different and not what I have any interest in.
My first teacher looked at my chart and told me I should do a combo of medical sensitive/astro work but never get paid for it. That's a very slippery slope to navigate, and can be very fatalistic. Easier to do in a workshop environment where people are open to it. More difficult when you have info people don't want to hear. This is why I rarely do any readings.
Thanks for your take about what's going on now and heaven help us.
Just do the horary when you actually need it. Then, it takes on an entirely different color.
It's like when you do the Tarot with a serious intent; the cards are BLAZING. If you're sort of ho-hum, the cards (or the chart) mirror back that lack of zeal.
I worked with one of the world's best medical astrologers some years back, and he absolutely blew my mind. I was convinced that something else was at play between us, but he stuck strictly to the rules of his craft (which is extremely traditional-based) and imparted valuable info to me about diet, etc.
Astrologers must be paid, so I don't know why she suggested you wouldn't take money. It could have something to do with a legal angle.
I am a Pisces sun with Aquarius rising, so I'm very interested is this stellium 😂 I haven't been running charts for myself lately. I've been more focused on Saturn returning to Aries, my 2nd return.
I agree with what Bobbe wrote about the idea of taking it all in, and letting it become something new.
How do I relax and detach, while still taking action? Lots of practice is the short answer.
For me, I've let go of most of political stuff. I've been quietly saying that it's all gonna burn, and something new will take it's place. I have no idea what that will look like.
I take action in my day to day life, creating as many positive ripples as I can. I can't control where they go, or if they'll hit something and ripple back to me. That unknown is the surprise, the joy or the shit that becomes a lesson.
Thank you for being the catalyst that fires my neurons💌
What I notice, with the passive/active thing, is that when I'm not planning on doing anything, when I'm not meddling with what's passing before me, an impulse arises that I immediately act on, without analyzing it or overthinking it. I'm 'done' with before I knew exactly what I was doing. It's a bit like needing to use the bathroom, that awareness arises and then I act on it. I don't sit there debating if I should 'go' or not. lol. Again, especially with Pisces, the Tao is an excellent set of ideas to contemplate.
I love the bathroom analogy 😂 I don't usually have action impulses, mine are usually thoughts that tumble straight out of my mouth without filter or edit.
Like this perverse thought - Trump will probably be recognized as among the greats because his chaos brought about the needed change.
Definitely not MY thought, but entirely possible. OY! 🤦🏼♀️
I enjoyed your piece on the Pisces Stellium! The upcoming New Moon falls on my natal New Moon conjunction in Pisces in the 12th House.
I am triple Pisces (Sun-2 deg/; Moon-7 deg/; ASC-24 deg) all in the 12th, including Mars-in Aquarius, but also conjunct my Sun/Moon conjunction in the 12 House.
I have only 1 earth planet: Venus in Capricorn in the 10th - my stability!
I have Pisces sun, mercury, jupiter and north node in first house so am a bit of an expert on the addict/mystic😆
A favorite poem of mine. The Clearing by Martha Postlewaite, describes my experience of Neptunian unitive consciousness encountering Saturnian form.
DO not try to save/the whole world/or do anything grandiose./ Instead create a clearing/in the dense forest of your life/and wait there/patiently/until the song/that is your life/falls into your own cupped hands/and you recognize it and greet it./ only then will you know/how to give yourself/to this world/so worthy of rescue.
Wow!!! What an absolutely beautiful poem! Thank you so much for the gift of it --- I shall now seek out Martha Postlewaite to see what other wonders she has written.
I thought during covid that finally the world realised that we are all interconnected. But no, people are trying to obtain separation and superiority again, but that's not reality. So, I think that maybe we're going to be reminded, once again, that everything that happens one place on earth affects all of the other places and if my neighbour is an immigrant, legal or illegal, it's all one and the same. That's what I think is a lesson humans need to learn and Pisces is all of us, in water. I fear another pandemic or maybe floods--I've had flood dreams. Anyways, with my moon in Taurus opposition Neptune in Scorpio, I dream ahead and have always done so. So far, all I'm dreaming is increased crime. My grand trine in water may also impart me a strange ability to dream vividly, to the point that if I'm zealous, I can read my actual email while sleeping and wake up and re-read it. Any missing email from the dream will appear within 12 hours. So, my view on the reality of life is very watery, very interconnected. When I had a person run a horary on my fav diamond earrings, it was spot on, so preach on horary! I wanted them back, and he helped me locate them. My current astrology teacher told me to watch my health in the way Pisces is transiting my house 6. I thought, maybe everyone's health.....maybe we're about to lose a little more of actual earth into water.....
I don't know, or rather it's hard to imagine, that tribalism will ever cease within human beings. It's a weird distortion between the animal part of our nature and the human.
It's complicated by the fact that people can't resist shoving their ideologies down other people's throat...even if they are dreams of unification and interconnectedness. There's an underlying aggression to the effort, even if the idea seems noble. In short, people don't know how to leave other people alone.
And yes, horary is an excellent way to work with traditional astrology.
A few months ago Elsa gave me good advice: stay in my boat. Kinda like ‘stay in your lane’. But on top of that very sage and simple advice my plan, not just for this transit, but for the shit show life seems it will be for a very long time, possibly the rest of my life, as I am 68, is to keep it simple.
Pandora has a great music selection and I routinely put on a stations from when music really meant something to me. Folk 70’s, The Four Seasons for 60’s oldies, Daryl Hall’s channel is amazing - the kinds of songs that on the first note I know the first lyric. (I have found a few new artists on his channel as well.) Hell I even went to hear The Glenn Miller Orchestra, touring since 1956, with an amazing rotating group of some very fine musicians. Music I learned to love when I was a kid. Soothing. Familiar. Comforting. I am also seeing several tribute bands - Tom Petty, The Doobie Bros., Led Zeppelin, the Bee Gee’s and whatever other bands I can find in our small venue.
I recently taught myself how to make biscuits from scratch. I’m not a ‘Southerner’ even though I live in the south and I was missing out on the perfection of a biscuit fresh out of the cast iron pan! I cook most nights, we rarely eat out, and I put a lot of thought into my grocery list and menus for the week. I cook, my husband cleans up. Routine and something we control when everything else is out of control
This may sound too pedestrian for many who may read this, but I am answering your question. I am staying in my boat and doing comforting things for myself, my husband and my dogs. Is my Sun in Cancer showing?
Sounds like you have a routine down that works well for you, Cee. And the biscuits sound like they're delicious. (My mom was from Texas and made them in a cast-iron skillet as well!)

Those quotes are cogent, Cynthia. And I adore Katherine Mansfield, one of Gurdjieff's most steadfast students. He was there for her as she passed.

Ah-ha.
I have a virgo stellium from 11°-27° so not directly opposite all this, but close enough.
Actually Neptune and Saturn are right there aren't they 😂😂 that Neptunian fog is strong this morning.
