Fascinating conversation about a topic that I have to admit held little interest for me. But I can see, now, Aiden's reasoning for calling this an art.

I appreciated this conversation a lot as someone who has avoided becoming too immersed in tech but interested in its effects culturally, socially, intellectually etc. I would like to point out in terms of activism that the Occupy movement wouldn't be my first choice as an example in the last decade or so but that the Women's March in Jan 2017 and Black Lives Matter in 2020 were far more organized even while the latter was more fraught with sporadic but limited acts of violence and more negative optics by the media. Thanks again for these interesting conversations.

Great examples, Heidi.

I mentioned Occupy as I was trying to elaborate more about Adam Curtis’s documentary.

If you haven’t caught his work, I highly recommend spending time with it. There is no one else doing what he is doing — with his close reads of our current cultural predicament.

Start with HyperNormilization.

I will definitely do so. Thanks for the reference. I heard it but missed the connection.
