The Times They Are a-Warpin'

WOULD MARS PLEASE get the fuck out of Cancer already? I mean, when did it ingress—a year ago? The porousness this transit generates is staggering. The all and everything flows through the nervous system from every direction—and as the planet is trine to Saturn, it’s given extra gravitas to make you feel every particle of whatever you’re feeling—indubitably (and indefatigably). Always great for finessing the imagination into new terrain. Hang in there; we’ve got several more weeks to go.
Here are happenings you might have missed on WOODRUFF. As well as some recommendations and upcoming content next month.
• Earlier this week, I interviewed Dan Snyder, the founder and head designer of the Corridor menswear line out of Brooklyn. This was a very Neptunian talk, as it fits the planet associated with fashion: “What we wear carries a sound and color out into the universe.” The complete discussion is here.
• In my cast for the Spring/Autumn Equinox chart, I consider letting go of the idea that ‘karma’ or comeuppance will save us and several other key takeaways based on the March 20 horoscope. As alluded to above, with Mars in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces, we’re being forced to mature through a mysterious type of passive-activism reminiscent of teachings from the Tao. The full video is here for my paid subscribers.
• My friend and longtime regular client Deborah, who DJs by the name Skyecatcher over on MixCloud, creates impressive arrays of astro-inspired music mixes. Find your Zodiac sign and dive in. Her mixes include drum and bass, hip-hop, house, high-energy dance, and an ethereal selection of electronic beats. This is beguiling sonic art-making—with segues that always delight. Follow along here.
• Coming soon on WOODRUFF, I’m joined again by astrologer Jessica Murray as we both take swipes at grabbing hold of the upcoming Saturn-Neptune conjunction’s gold ring. What is happening to masculinity (and, for that matter, femininity) in America? And what the fuck is Curtis Yarvin’s Dark (Saturn) Enlightenment (Neptune) about? Murray’s cogent close reads on US culture and politics are some of the sharpest within the astrological field. I can’t wait to meet up with her this weekend.
• And how are each of you planning to manage the remainder of the Mars in Cancer transit? I drew a card for a general take on the remaining couple of weeks, and we’d best prepare for the intensity level to ratchet up. But this is a Mars in Scorpio card, loaded with purgative powers, so allowing (gracefully or not) for closure and release seems to be the way through. Crowley defined the inverted pentagram arrangement of the cups as the symbol for matter conquering spirit. And that seems fitting as the US Constitution is waylaid.

At least come back in bounds again ... geez. Then I remembered that Jupiter will go into Cancer soon and while it is considered elevated here, 9/11 happened during this time. I moved to NYC in July, 2001 near my Saturn Return and when I looked back Jupiter was right near my Saturn. God help us.
