I'm happy to hear that. It's been an interesting shift for me, as writing has been my central focus for years. Thanks, Heidi.

I meant to ask you why you aren't giving me insights about getting discount prices on Ozempic!

Really looking forward to the Jessica Murray interview. When is that going to appear?

HA!!! Right. That blew my mind yesterday. Gawd, so fucking tacky. Jessica's vid will be up late tomorrow!

I am still a luddite I guess, thought I was gong to renew my subscription and did some clicking and I am not sure what happened. Perhaps you have the info needed already. Cheers

Hi Carolyn -- I went through my subscriber databank on Substack and don't see you listed. Are you subscribed under a different name or email address?

I now realize that what I did is renew subscription to WOODUFF which is what I intended. I have a receipt in email for that in email, so all is well. Thank you

HA! Thanks, Suzanne. Good to know. I think you'll like the flow of interviews and discussions throughout the year.

Yes, Daddy, happy now 😆. I am actually beginning to appreciate the video conversations though.

I am really happy with your take on, not only astrology, but your insanely wonderful quirk with words, and looking with you through your gimlet eye.

Looking forward to what’s ahead to help me not feel so fucked or if we are fucked how to lube up (was that too crass?).

If I detailed what it took for my twelfth house Cancer Sun, to get in front of a vid camera, I'd need to do it in chapters.

Your comment made my day, Cee...THANK YOU!

Really love hearing you two talk - have followed Jessica since the early 2000's and just found you and subscribed. I'm auditing a great poli sci class at UW by Prof Megan Francis "Can Democracy be Saved?" and she straddles back and forth between the realities of how we got here (going as far back as FDR backlash) and the role of big tech in the collective mind - and imagining how we might reinvent this post-democracy place we're in - it speaks to me of a higher level/use of Neptune in Aries with Saturn - easy for me to say since both Saturn and Neptune are strong in my chart (pisces ASC at 28 deg and exact mercury neptune conjunction - sun in scorpio) but I think its a way of cutting through the chaos of all these layered big transits and ingresses we're in. Neptune creates a lot of confusion but it also can help us envision too - even if only some of us do it. We need a vision of where we want to head as liberals and it won't be anywhere behind us - it'll be new.

Great pointers and reminders, Catherine. Thank you!

Having a "tragi-comic" view is the ONLY way to maintain mental stability and equilibrium in the "virtual reality" that we now live in, where physical features are altered, lies are normalized, personal responsibility eschewed, etc. Like Hirayama, just go sit in the park, look up at the trees, and smell the wind, or wonder at the flower growing between the cracks in the pavement.

Yes, and remember that in 40 years or so everyone in your circle will most likely be gone.

Do you think the rest of homo sapiens will make it or is it the end of the Anthropocene? I think climate change will occur much faster than the media is letting on.

Recently I've been amazed that we can just turn on the faucet and have potable hot water, a zillion choices at the supermarket, most of which are "Soylent Green" products. There is simply no way to feed this amount of people in the "developed" nations other than industrial food, products, services. The amount of trash generated is unsustainable.

I'm so glad you asked why these billionaires don't just walk away and enjoy their money. I have often noticed that rich people, people who are successful in one small avenue of life, extrapolate that success to mean that ALL their ideas are excellent. They're not, but you can't convince them! They suddenly think that they have all the answers to life's troubling questions.

Hi Frederick, I'm posting simply to say I've cancelled my subscription to Woodruff, not because I have disagreed with your viewpoints a couple of times. I think you are super smart, insightful, and amusing, but because I am eliminating all non-vital budgetary expenditures and channelling that money into funding various elements in the resistance. My contributions to those individuals/groups may be chump change (and I don't mean pennies 😉), but they are the most I can do at present. So keep up the good work, and I hope I can subscribe again, when/if the world becomes more sane (A few years in planet rotation, I hope?) Meantime, as you expressed interest in the amazing Walter B, here's a fascinating article from a December issue of the NYer about how a visit to Naples changed how he (and members of the Frankfurt School) thought and wrote about the world. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/12/02/naples-1925-martin-mittelmeier-book-review. Always love Jessica thoughts and when you two get together it sets off little mindgasm. Is that an

elder form of voyeurism, hihihi? Here is an after musing. What the united states has perpetuated throughout the southern hemisphere for so many decades is now being visited on it and the rest of the world. The mayhem stemming from capitalist ambition on sovereign countries, rattling cages with dictators pushed on to shore up the mighty greenback with it's poor excuse of saviour from the communist bogeyman. One time friend then enemy, sanctions/ financial blackmail unless aligned with united statians ideals.

And here we are at a time when the world economies have merged beyond border, you get saddled with a cyclop whose intentions are nefarious and out of control. The conglomerate throwing up all over trade agreements, leaving retinues in a genuflex position holding their nose at the stench. What can poor buggers do, learn to do with even less? I'm very much afraid of the end game, not the one the fool in chief has in his tunnel vision but what the enablers are scheming. As a prominent commenter on The Guardian pages used today "I'm all out of hopium"
